Preparation: Gather all necessary materials and tools, including the PPF, a squeegee, a spray bottle with installation solution, a heat gun or a professional wrapping tool, a sharp knife or a cutting tool, and a microfiber cloth.
Clean the Surface: Thoroughly clean the vehicle surface to be covered with the PPF. Use a car wash soap and a sponge to remove any dirt, grime, or wax. Dry the surface completely to ensure there are no contaminants that could affect the adhesion of the film.
Measure and Cut: Measure the area of the car you want to cover and cut the PPF accordingly, leaving a little extra material for adjustments. Use a cutting guide or a template if available to ensure precision.
Application: Spray the installation solution onto the car surface and the backside of the PPF. This helps the film to slide more easily during application and allows for repositioning before it adheres to the surface.
Positioning: Carefully position the PPF on the car surface, starting at one end and working your way out. Use the squeegee to smooth out the film, working from the center towards the edges to remove any bubbles or wrinkles.
Heat Application: Use a heat gun to gently heat the film, which helps it to conform to the contours of the car surface. This is particularly important for areas with complex curves.
Trimming: Once the film is properly adhered and conformed to the vehicle's shape, use a sharp knife to trim away any excess film around edges, such as near door handles, windows, and trim.
Final Adjustments: After trimming, go over the film again with the squeegee to ensure all air bubbles are removed and the film is tightly adhered to the surface.
Post-Care: Allow the film to set for the recommended time, usually 24 to 48 hours, before washing or exposing the film to high pressure.
Maintenance: Clean the PPF regularly with mild soap and water, and avoid using abrasive materials that could scratch the film.
